Macey a jej dve sestry žijú spokojný život na slnečnom Havaji. Pred pár rokmi spravili rozhodnutie, vďaka ktorému sa od mnohých rovesníčok odlišujú.

Macey má 19 rokov, miluje tanec a teší sa zo života, ktorý je podľa nej dokonalý. Hoci nikdy nikomu vedome neublížila, keď ju cudzí ľudia uvidia v plavkách, nadávajú jej a vysmievajú sa jej.

​Tínedžerka sa totiž pred pár rokmi prestala holiť a nechala si zarásť podpazušie, intímne partie aj nohy. A je to práve jej čierne ochlpenie, ktoré vyvoláva u ostatných znechutenie.
